My grandfather, who was a disabled WWI vet, when in the VA hospital could see the flag out his window. He said he loved that the first thing he saw each morning was "Old Glory". During WWI, he was mustard gassed and trapped in no man's land, coming home disabled for life. Yet he never complained and was a patriot until the day he died. To me, the flag represents all those who have given their life's blood for our freedom.
