Argiope Aurantia! :D She's one of my favourites that you can find in my area. :) Such a pretty spider. My Dad found one a few months back and sent me a picture. I thought it was an argiope ripara the first time I identified it, but then I realized my identification book had the images switched around; the argiope aurantia image was on the ripara page and vice versa. But it's an aurantia. :D 
Lovely image! Great shot!
(Just so you know, if you type "pretty spider" on Google Images this is the third image that comes up. :p)

Glad to help. :D They haven't quite reached the island I live on yet, but they've reached the mainland near my island (which is where my dad found one), so I'm holding out hope for the future. ;p

This is one of the agriope species (probably the silver) and looks like it's a female! Nice photo!

I used to have one of these outside of my house for years, it would make its web in the bush beside my porch. That was a while back before I had my nice digital camera to take a picture of it. I always found them interesting. This is a great photo. :)
